Children, song, poetry books released

Imphal, March 27 2022:
A children's book 'Ei Shamu Amasung Nanaomacha' written by Lilong Haoreibi College principal Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh and published by the Writers' Union Imphal was released on Sunday.
The book release function held at Manipur Press Club was attended by retired IAS officer AR Khan as chief guest and Writers' Union Imphal president Dr Syed Ahmed as functional president, while Sahitya Sandoklup Wangjing president Moirangthem Rajendra Singh and All Manipur Muslims Organisation Coordinating Committee president SM Jalal were present as special guests.
Eminent poet, writer and Imphal College principal Dr Moirangthem Priyobarta Singh also attended the function as the reviewer of the book.
As a part of the event, 14 Manipuri Pangal writers were felicitated by presenting them with shawls and citations.
Meanwhile, Sheirengbasingee Apunba Lup (SHAL), Manipur released a song book 'Kwak Tansey' penned by Khaidem Imo in a function held at his Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai residence on Sunday.
The programme was attended by SHAL Manipur president Dr Sagolsem Ibungochouba, Film Forum Manipur chairman Samjetsabam Mangoljao and Sahitya Akademi, Manipur Language Advisory Board member, Dr Koijam Shantibala as presidium members while Salam Tomba spoke about the book.
Similarly, a book release function and discussion of two poetry books 'Manipur Kou-bi Imo O' written by Usham Niranjan and 'Apaiba Tangoi' by Mei Bhagat was organised at Tribal Research Institute auditorium, Chingmeirong on Sunday.
The programme was attended by Wangkhem MLA Keisham Meghachandra and The Cultural Forum, Manipur president Prof Huirem Bihari as chief guest and president respectively.
During the event, Manipur University of Culture assistant professor Dr Makhonmani Mongsaba and Manipur University Manipuri Department Prof Rajen Toijamba presented critical appreciation of the book.
