Sangeet Kala Sangam presented its annual classical dance production, Nitya Rass' at the auditorium of Sangeet Kala Sangam in Khurai Lamlong Bazar on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Khurai Chingangbam Leikai pradhan Lairikyengbam Kananbala urged all to take in as much knowledge as possible from the production, while appreciating the efforts of Sangeet Kala Sangam towards safeguarding the cultural wealth of the state.
She then remarked that cultural organisations play an important role in helping the youth to stay away from drugs through various cultural activities and as such, she wished for the organisation to produce more exemplary artistes in the future, while assuring of extending all possible help from her side.
Delivering the keynote speech, Sangeet Kala Sangam secretary M Basanta stated that the annual production is part of the organisation's efforts to protect and preserve the cultural heritage of the state.
So far, the organisation has presented 150 dramas and many research papers on Lai Haraoba and other topics, which are of huge assistance to the research students of MUC and MU, he conveyed, while adding that efforts are being made to organise festivals to help save the cultural wealth of the state.
Presided over by Sangeet Kala Sangam president N Birendro, the event was attended by JN Manipur Dance Academy retired pradhan Guru Arambam Tombinou Devi as guest of honour.
As part of the event, artistes of Sangeet Kala Sangam enthralled the audience with the classical dance production, 'Nitya Raas' .
