Imphal, March 27 2022:
The All Manipur Muslim's Organisation Coordination Committee (AMMOCOC) has warned of imposing a counter bandh if the Nagaland Government fails to take actions against Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) .
Speaking to media persons at AMMOCOC office today, committee president SM Jalal stated that SAPO imposing indefinite bandh in its jurisdiction which is the lifeline of Manipur is very unfortunate.
He also stated that SAPO opposing the establishment of a security outpost in Manipur is condemnable in the strongest terms.
Lauding Chief Minister N Biren Singh for standing firmly to protect the boundary of Manipur, SM Jalal added that AMMOCOC supports the stand of the Manipur Government over the issue and asked all CSOs and political parties to do the same.
Imposing bandh or blockade on National Highways for every petty demand is unreasonable, he said and claimed that certain anti National elements have also been collecting illegal taxes from vehicles plying along National Highways in Manipur.
SAPO should place its demand to the Nagaland Government instead and the latter must take action against the organisation for imposing indefinite bandh on National Highway, he said and added that AMMOCOC might launch a counter bandh if the organisation does not lift the indefinite bandh.
