MLA Dr I Ibohalbi, legislature wing leader of Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress (MPTC) has stated that the party will endorse the decision taken up by the all political parties on controversial border fencing works being carried out along the Indo-Myanmar International boundary.
He asserted that the border issue is a serious issue which needs to be solved at the earliest through concerted effort and pledged that his party will pursue the issue actively until it is resolved.
Demanding that the ongoing fencing works be stopped at once until a joint survey to resolve the border dispute, Dr Ibohalbi maintained that the decision to visit Delhi for urging Central leaders regarding inclusion of members of all political parties and other experts while conducting the joint survey is a welcoming step.
While calling upon the politicians and people to unite together in safeguarding the territorial integrity of the State, Dr Ibohalbi further said that his party is well aware that the compensation given to the State for wild life sanctuary and forest areas affected by the border fencing work has been kept under the Compensatory Afforestation Planning and Management Authority (CAPMA) .
He went on to say that there is also a need to correct the wrongly demarcated international boundary of the State being shown in Google.
