Imphal, July 18 2026:
As part of the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the RSS Thoubal Jilla organised a Samajik Sadbhav (Social Harmony) Programme at Parikshit Mandap, Khangabok Awang Maning Bazar, today.
Addressing the gathering, Laishram Jatra Singh, Karyakarni Sadasya, RSS Manipur Prant, said that scholars, saints, and spiritual leaders came together to guide the people towards unity and righteousness whenever society faced challenges arising from arrogance, injustice, and divisive forces throughout history.
He observed that anti-social elements and forces working to divide society have appeared at different points in history, but visionary leaders have always united people and safeguarded the Nation's cultural and spiritual values.
Calling for collective responsibility, Jatra urged people to rise above differences based on caste, religion, language, region, and community.
He appealed to every citizen to work together for the welfare of the motherland and preserve Bharat's rich civilizational heritage.
Jatra also called upon society to strive collectively to restore Bharat's position as a Vishva Guru.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahabir Laishram, Karyakarni Sadasya and Samajik Sadbhav Pramukh, RSS Manipur Prant, explained that the Sadbhav Baithak is an initiative of the RSS aimed at promoting dialogue, goodwill, and meaningful engagement among people belonging to different communities and backgrounds.
He said the primary objective of the programme is to strengthen social harmony and mutual understanding by encouraging interaction among people of different religions, castes, professions, and social groups.
The initiative also seeks to discuss important social issues, inspire greater participation in community service activities, and foster constructive relationships with community leaders, academicians, religious personalities, and members of civil society.
The programme was attended by prominent citizens, social workers, community leaders, and RSS volunteers.
Laishram Tomba Khuman, a retired Inspector and State and National Awardee, was also present.
The event concluded with a collective resolve to strengthen social harmony, National integration, and public participation in Nation-building.
