Bishnupur, July 18 2026: Farmers affected by the ongoing violence in Manipur have formed a new body, the Committee Against the Victimized Farmers in Bishnupur District, to collectively pursue their demands for pending compensation.

According to a release issued by the committee, the decision was taken during a joint meeting held on July 12 at Moirang Konung Meeting Hall.

The meeting was attended by farmers from various villages who have been unable to cultivate their agricultural land for the past three years due to the prevailing conflict.

The committee stated that it was formed after repeated demands raised by various farmers' organisations failed to receive a satisfactory response from the Government.
