Covid claims two more lives, infects 18

Imphal, December 11 2021:
The state on Saturday reported two death cases and 18 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1481 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 1.22 per cent against 1.68 per cent recorded on Friday.
The two death cases were residents of Imphal East, and it took the total number of Covid-19 fatalities in the state to 1989, One of them had first dose of Covid vaccine and the other was not vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the active caseload came down to 328 out of which 52 (15.85 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only four reported fresh Covid cases on Saturday with Imphal West recording highest number of cases at 11.So far, the state has recorded 96,096 positive cases and 1615 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 291 new positive cases and 12 fatalities have been reported during the current month out of which 168 new cases and 8 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 18 new positive cases (9 male & 9 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (1), JNIMS (2) and other testing centres (15) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (3), Imphal West (11), Thoubal (1) and Kakching (3).In the last 24 hours, 32 patients were discharged from home isolation (15), RIMS (3), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (4) .
The cumulative number of positive* cases has reached 1,25,496 (general population - 1,21,063 and CAPF personnel - 4,433) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,179 (general population - 1,18,756 and CAPF personnel - 4,423) and number of active cases is 328 (general population - 323 and CAPF personnel - 5).The recovery rate is 98.15 per cent.
A total of 397 D-type and 73 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 6948 vaccine doses were administered on Friday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,99,799 including 9,28,438 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,015), Imphal East (27,867), Thoubal (9484), Churachandpur (10,189), Kangpokpi (2788), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9224), Senapati (2248), Ukhrul (2997), Kakching (6447), Chandel (2361), Noney (1074), Tenngnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (955) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (665), Imphal East (478), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (193), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,443 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,782 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,62,650 tests per million population against the national average of 4,67,747 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1481 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.22 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.74 per cent.
