Pay and Use' Community Sanitary Complex inaugurated in Tamenglong

Tamenglong, April 10 2015 :
M Luikham IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong district on Friday inaugurated the pay and use public sanitary toilet complex.
Armstrong Pame, IAS, Joint Secretary, PHE, Government of Manipur, L.Poucharei Rongmei, Executive Engineer PHED, Tamenglong, Joseph Pauline, MCS ADM Tamenglong and Chief Executive Officer, ADC Tamenglong and other district level officers were also present in the brief function.
The Toilet Complex Tamenglong was constructed under 'Swatch Bharat Mission' with the sanction cost of Rs 200,000.It has three cubicles each for gents and ladies.
Speaking as chief guest speech, M Luikham, said that the pay and use sanitary toilet may be new one to the locals.
But it is for smooth use and such kind of toilets are found in other cities.
Pay and Use Sanitary Toilet is needed in market places, bus stands, other crowded places.
It is to provide basic sanitary facility for the people and he lauded the PHED for taking up such noble gesture.

spoke on the occasion.
He that the objective for construction of pay and use community sanitary toilet is to use it as a model.
The idea to construct pay and use community sanitary toilet complex struck him when he went to the public urinal behind Deputy Commissioner Office Tamenglong some back.
"I felt so sorry for the staff, public, etc.
We want the toilet/urinal to be clean.
This is not for just two/ three months but use it for generations with cleanliness", he said.
Heavy rains with hailstorm disrupted the concluding part of the programme.
Many vegetable gardens reportedly destroyed by the hail stones.
