Capping and oath taking for nurses

Health Services Director O Ibomcha said on Friday that the Government has plans to include basic computer syllabus in the nursing course from the next session.
He was speaking during the "Capping cum Oath taking" ceremony of School of ANM/FMW, Medical Directorate 2014-16 batch, Imphal held at Multipurpose Hall.
Ibomcha further said that nurse need basic computer knowledge for smooth handling of the new machines and medical tools.
He said nurse play important role in the medical field and in promoting health services in the society and suggested to produce more nurses from the State.
He advised the nurses to have patience, good manners, discipline, hard work and polite to the patients.
Ibomcha further told that the ratio of nurse in Country is still low since it is 1000 persons per nurse while Manipur has 260 persons per nurse against the World Health Organisation (WHO) norms of 5 persons per nurse.
Chief Medical Officer Imphal West S Bimolakumari , Family Welfare Service Director K Rajo, State Health Service Manipur Additional Director, P Shyam Sunder , Nursing Superintendent, JNIMS P Landhoni and Manipur Nursing Council (MNC) Medical Directorate Registrar Kh Ratna attended the function as President and Guests of Honour respectively.
The students submitted a memorandum to the director during the function demanding to provide proper facilities and infrastructures to them.
A memento and cash prize was given to Vung Ngaisian whom secured 9th position in the 1st year exam conducted by Manipur Nursing Council by the school authority and students.
