Imphal, April 10 2015 :
BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba has appealed to all concerned to make the ADC election of May 30 free and fair so that all political parties can contest the election on an even play ground, and voters can elect candidates of their own choice.
Chaoba was speaking at the felicitation cum get-together function of newly elected president of BJP Mahila Morcha president RK Pramodini and other office bearers.
Underscoring the political significance of the ADC election, Chaoba pledged that BJP would campaign under the party's collective leadership in a very transparent manner so that the party can open its account in the State.
For the total 144 seats of the six ADCs, 213 people took nomination forms from the party.
Out of them, 37 prospective candidates have already submitted their nomination forms.
Names of BJP candidates would be announced once the election notification is issued, Chaoba said.
The party would not spare any efforts to ensure that it is elected to power in all the six ADCs.
Although there were many prohibitions during the last ADC election, there is very little to fear this time, Chaoba said before calling upon all the party workers to work sincerely in unison.
BJP would fight the ADC election on the plank of development.
All development funds meant for hill districts and PDS items have been misappropriated by the Congress party, he charged.
Questioning Congress party's objection against the Land Acquisition Bill, 2015 which has been already passed by Lok Sabha, Chaoba maintained that the NDA tabled the Bill for amendment of nine points in the larger interest of the country's peasants.
