Campaigning for 1st phase ends

Imphal, February 26 2022:
Campaigning for the first phase of election to the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly, 2022 on February 28 ended at 4 pm Saturday.
The first phase has total of 12,22,713 voters including 6,29,276 females and 175 transgender voters while 173 candidates are in fray in 38 assembly constituencies.
Churachandpur AC with 65,325 voters has the highest number of voters amongst the ACs in the first phase.
Of the 38 ACs, 10 are in Imphal East district, 13 in Imphal West district, six each in Bishnupur district and Churachandpur district, and three ACs in Kangpokpi district.
ACs that will go on poll in Imphal East district include Khundrakpam, Heingang, Khurai, Kshetrigao, Thongju, Keirao, Andro, Lamlai, Yaiskuland Wangkhei.
The district has total number of 3,27,227 voters with Wangkhei AC (37,235 voters) having the highest number of electors.
In case of Imphal West district, election will be conducted in Thangmeiband, Uripok, Sagolband, Keishamthong; Singjamei, Sekmai, Lamsang, Konthoujam, Patsoi, Langthabal, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa, Wangoi and Mayang Imphal ACs.
The district has a total of 3,83,674 voters with Patsoi AC (37,604) having the largest number of voters.
In Bishnupur district, election will be held in N^mbol, Oinam, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi ACs with total of 1,85,223 voters exercising their rights.
Amongst them Moirang AC (39,876) has the largest numbers of voters.
In Kangpokpi district, election will be conducted in Saikul, Kangpokpi and Saitu ACs, which have a total number of 1,02,227 voters with Saitu AC (44,686) having the highest number of voters.
In Churachandpur district, polls will be held for Tipaimukh, Thanlon, Henglep, Churachandpur, Saikot and Singhat ACs with Churachandpur AC (65,325) having the highest number of electors.
