Imphal, July 18 2021:
Manipur Development Society chairman M Asnikumar launched a website named 'e-Loumi' of Farming Alternative and Resilience Management Schools (FARMS) on Sunday and said that developing innovative idea has more pride than anything else.
During the virtual website launch function attended by agri experts, students, farmers and prominent personalities, Asnikumar said that he felt proud when innovative ideas are developed by people of the state and 'e-Loumi' is the new initiative taken up by educated people of the state.
"Having been brought up in a fisherman/ farmer's family, I feel remorse when crops grown with sweat and toil of the farmers are damaged," he said and maintained that 'e-Loumi' platform is important for a small state like Manipur.
This platform could teach about the changing global scenario but efforts should be made in other sectors too or else people of the state will remain backward forever, he said.
Asnikumar also opined that everyone needs to thank and encourage people like Dr Senjam Genius who develops such a platform to deliver more than desired results than efforts put in by farmers in their fields with the utilisation of new idea and technology.
Describing the 'e-Loumi' as a platform developed to support farmers completely, Asnikumar said that he has been associated with different people working in this field for many years and the new platform will be able to bring changes to lives of thousands of farmers.
He also assured of extending every possible support from his side and thanked Dr Senjam Genius and his team for developing the platform.
The virtual launch ceremony of 'e-Loumi' was attended by senior phytopathologist Dr M Thoithoi Singh, agri department project officer K Nimaichand and CAU Imphal deputy director of instruction Dr Yumnam Bedajit Singh as guests of honour.
Retired fisheries officer Laishram Nilakumar Singh, noted floriculturist of KVK Senapati Homen Kangjam and retired KVK Imphal West chief technical officer (Horticulture) GP Kabui also attended the event as special guests.
