Another accused in KRA chief murder held

Imphal, July 18 2021:
A team of Kangpokpi police, on Saturday, arrested one more accused in the 'murder' of Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) chief Jaggin Baite and his body guard Lamginlen Hangshing on April 29 night along with arms and ammunition.
According to police, a Special Investigation Team constituted in connection with the double murder case received specific information about the presence of another accused of the case in a jungle near Makokching village.
The team under the command of Thangkhochon Haokip, Additional SP Law and Order Kangpokpi, and under the supervision of SP Kangpokpi Karthik Malladi launched a massive search operation in Makokching village under Saikul Police Station.
During the operation, Lenjagin @ Jovy Hangshing (37) s/o Helpao Hangshing of Khomunnom village was arrested from his hideout located inside the jungle and on his instance arms and ammunition were recovered from a jungle near Khomunnom village.
The recovered arms and ammunition include one HK 416 Assault Rifle along with magazine and 12 live rounds and one M-16A1 Assault Rifle along with a magazine and 10 live rounds.
It may be mentioned that the SIT had also arrested three prime accused of the case namely Satmingthang Hangshing (34) s/o Lalpao Hangsing of Lhungtin village; Lamginlal @ Lalcha Chongloi (38) s/o Lunsat Chingloi of Lhungtin village and Lunginhao @ Robert Hangsing (33) s/o Jiten of Phaikon village on June 2, 2021 from Lilen-B village, Peren district Nagaland with the help of 36 Assam Rifles.
