MLA Joykisan assures culvert, blacktopping work before monsoon

Imphal, April 27 2022: Thangmeiband MLA Khumukcham Joykisan has assured of completing the construction of culverts and blacktopping work in Namthanlong area before the monsoon season begins.

Construction of a culvert near Bhairodan Maxwell Hindi High School, Thangal Bazar has begun from Wednesday under the supervision of the MLA.

Interacting with media while inspecting the work, Joykisan said that the culvert is being constructed in order to address the issue of frequent waterlogging in Thangal Keithel area in the event of even a slight rainfall.

In the last term, several roads in Thangmeiband constituency were blacktopped.

However, some roads could not be covered due to various reasons, conceded the Janata Dal-United legislator while explaining that he has initiated process to cancel work orders for projects, which have already been sanctioned but no works executed till date so that the work orders could be issued to new contractors, who could begin the work promptly.

Later, the MLA had meeting with elders of Namthanlong village Thoubei.

During the meeting, the MLA assured of completing blacktopping and culvert construction works of the village before the monsoon season.

Meanwhile, Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan inspected different health centres in the constituency and assessed their conditions on Wednesday.

During his inspection visit, the National People's Party (NPP) MLA interacted with doctors, nurses and other support staff of different PHCs and PHSCs, and took stock of the existing infrastructure so that he could bring up the matter to the government.

Mention may be made here that the MLA launched Noorul Hassan Health Protection Scheme, a privately run health insurance policy for people of his constituency with three varying categories of coverage on April 24 .

He would be distributing the health cards to the registered beneficiaries on May 15 .
