Test rate dips, TPR rises, 467 new cases detected

Test capacity has dropped significantly while test positivity rate rose in the state in the last 24 hours as government bulletins reported seven deaths and 467 new cases out of 3005 samples tested, thus registering a positivity rate of 15.54 per cent against 13.15 per cent on Saturday.
The active caseload, however, dropped to 7006 after 825 patients were discharged in the same time span.
Of the active cases, 2858 patients (40.79 per cent) are under home isolation, 1925 (27.48 per cent) in CHICs, 1344 (19.18 per cent) in CCCs and 879 (12.55 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 127 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 361 are on oxygen support and 62 on ventilator support.
At the same time, 51 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Monday evening, 2259 beds are available in different CCCs.
There is no updated information on government, private and district hospitals as well as CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 75,391 positive cases and 1283 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month saw an addition of 6292 hew cases and 101 fatalities out of which 4919 new cases and 79 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 467 new cases (231 male & 236 female) are from among the general population and their samples were tested at RIMS (67), JNIMS (14), District Hospitals (209) and other testing centres (177).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (118), Imphal West (125), Thoubal (25), Bishnupur (94), Kakching (16), Ukhrul (2), Churachandpur (41), Chandel (12), Senapati (14), Tamenglong (11), Jiribam (2) and Kangpokpi (7).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported seven Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no age and gender information has been provided.
The district wise fatafities are Imphal West (1), Imphal East (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (2) and Tengnoupal (1).The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1657.Out of the seven victims two did not have any co-morbid conditions and one had the first dose of vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, 825 patients were discharged from home isolation (364), RIMS (12), JNIMS (17), CCCs (161) and CHICs (271).However, 580 discharged patients were reported only on Monday and the total number of discharged cases in the last 24 hours is calculated as 1405.The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,04,791 (general population - 1,00,734 and CAPF personnel - 4,057).Number of recovered cases is 96,128 (general population - 92,155 and CAPF personnel - 3,973) and number of active cases is 7,006 (general population - 6,927 and CAPF personnel - 79).The recovery rate is 91.73 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 2572 D-type and 412 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Vaccination progress decreases further as only 3475 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday.
The cumulative number of vaccinated persons has reached 11,48,092.However, number of people who have received both doses of vaccine is only 2,45,688 against 3,02,287 eligible beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, 26 new positive cases were detected in Kakching district out of 165 samples tested from Sunday 2 pm to Monday 2 pm.
Two cases were detected at Ema Hospital, four at Jivan Hospital and 20 at different government RAT sites.
One is from Thoubal district and the rest are residents of Kakching district.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (35,076), Imphal East (23,510), Thoubal (8675), Churachandpur (8930), Kangpokpi (2467), Tamenglong (2898), Bishnupur (7887), Senapati (1912), Ukhrul (1869), Kakching (5800), Chandel (2048), Noney (906), Tengnoupal (985), Jiribam (965), Kamjong (605) and Pherzawl (258).Fatality counts in differ ent districts are Imphal West (559), Imphal East (392), Thoubal (151), Churachandpur (143), Kangpokpi (54), Tamenglong (12), Bishnupur (159), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (21), Kakching (103), Chandel (31), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (11), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (4) and Pherzawl(0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 33,771 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,927 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,64,633 tests per million population against the national average of 3,45,368 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.58 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 3005 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 15.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 9.26 per cent.
