World Fund for Youth (WFY) has observed that only bright students alone cannot build a good society.
So, weak students should also be motivated to be part of the mainstream as their ability to contribute towards the development of the society cannot be underestimated.
Addressing a press meet at its office located at Porompat, WFY Director Kanarjit said that the act of the government encouraging only few students who secured high mark in Class X and XII examinations may affect students who failed to clear the exams psychologically.
Asserting that there are various possible factors like incompetency of the teachers and school authorities, lack of motivation, bad company, financial matter, negligence by the parents, etc for the failure of the students in the examinations, he noted that in the absence proper attention to the needs of such weak students, they may be unwittingly encouraged to go astray and indulge in unwanted acts in the society out of frustration.
Kanarjit announced that students of Class X and XII who failed to clear their examinations will be given moral support by way of awarding them cash incentives on June 22, and appealed to all concerned students to submit their mark-sheets, certificates and contact number to the office of the organization before June 15 for availing the benefit.
