18 new Covid cases detected

Imphal, March 04 2022:
The daily test positivity rate remained below 2 per cent for the second consecutive day on Friday as government bulletins reported 18 new positive cases out of 1201 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 1.50 per cent against 1.46 per cent recorded on Thursday.
No death case was reported on Friday and the fatality tally stands at 2113 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 190 vaccinated people of which 60 had received second doses.
In the last 24 hours, 35 patients were discharged from home isolation (23), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (6) .
The active case came down to 276 out of which HO (39.86 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 279 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 114 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
So far, the state has recorded 11,084 positive cases and 111 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 89 new positive cases and 1 fatality.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 182 and 5 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 18 fresh cases (9 male & 9 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (14) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (5), Imphal West (6), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (2), Senapati (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,36,872 (general population - 1,31,859 and CAPF personnel - 5,013) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,34,483 (general population - 1,29,487 and CAPF personnel - 4,996) and number of active cases is 276 (general population - 266 and CAPF personnel - 10) .
The recovery rate is 98.25 per cent.
A total of 273 D-type and 155 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 4208 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 15,14,939, out of which 11,45,401 had received second doses and 60,539 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,641), Imphal East (30,389), Thoubal (10,126), Churachandpur 11,039), Kangpokpi (3123), Tamenglong (3468), Bishnupur (9807), Senapati (2481), Ukhrul (3260), Kakching (6872), Chandel (2705), Noney (1156), Tengnoupal (1196), Jiribam (1110), Kamjong (1034) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (702), Imphal East (510), Thoubal (188), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (50), Kakching (121), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,110 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,623 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,08,731 tests per million population against the national average of 5,49,672 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1201 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 1.50 per cent while the cumulative rate came down to 8.67 per cent.
