State youth, organizations bag awards

Manipuri youths have won many awards at the 18th National Youth Festival.
The 18th National Youth Festival ceremony under the theme of 'Youth for drug free world' was held on January 12 at the Athletic Ground of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiyana in presence of Sh.
Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State of Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent Charge) as Chief Guest and S.Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, as Functional President.
Around 4000 Youths from every state and Union Territory of India participated in the festival in deferent events like Folk Song, Folk Dance, Classical Vocal Solo, Classical Dance, Classical Instrumental Solo and One Act Play etc.
In all, 90 Manipuri Youths also participated in the Festival.
Gotimayum Sarjubala Devi D/o, G.Iboyaima Sharma of Langthabal Mantrikhong Mayai Leikai was honoured with cash reward of Rs 40,000 with citation and certificate in the individual category for her outstanding services in the field of Art and Culture, Education and Training and other Youth Welfare Services.
The award was presented to her by the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports during the Opening Ceremony of the festival.
In the Organisation Category, the Network of Economy and Welfare Service ( News), Kumbi, Bishnupur District and Sagol Kangjei Association, Wabagai, Thoubal District were honoured with cash reward of Rs 1,00,000 with citation and certificate each for the their outstanding services of Social Services and National Development programmes, etc, and for their outstanding services of Education and Training, Polo Welfare Programmes, etc, respectively.
