Imphal, March 30 2014:
The election manifesto of CPI and Left & Secular Alliance (LSA) common candidate Dr Moirangthem Nara was formally released by ex-Minister N Mangi at Irawat Bhavan here today.
Nara's election manifesto contains 27 points concerning the development and welfare of the State.
Speaking at the release function, N Mangi, who is also the Chairman of Election Campaign Committee, said that the Congress and BJP are two faces of the coin, and they cannot be expected to work for the welfare of the people.
Moreover, no commendable works have been taken up in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency from the MP's local area development fund during the last 10 years.
The people of the State need to think properly and cast their votes in the coming Lok Sabha election.
He further said that a post-poll alliance among the left, secular and regional political parties would come up to replace the UPA or NDA at the Centre.
Mangi also appealed to the voters to support Dr Nara and give him a chance to work for the welfare and development of the State.
Dr Nara asserted that the Congress Party boasts of having 42 MLAs in the State besides support from five other MLAs of MSCP.
However, the CPI and LSA would give a big blow to them in the Lok Sabha election.
Both Congress and BJP are anti-people and they are concerned only with the welfare of the rich people, he added.
Nara vows to fulfill the people's aspirations and safeguard the State's territorial integrity besides campaigning for the rights of women and farmers.
Other leaders of the Left and Secular Alliance were also present during the release function of the election manifesto.
