CM junks BJP-UG group nexus charge

Chief minister N Biren has ruled out any possibility of BJP involving UG organisations under Suspension of Operation (SoO) to influence electors in favour of the party's candidates.
Addressing a press meet at party's office here on Saturday, Biren said that the statement of KNO could be their own opinion and it might have come out of their love and support for BJP.
However, BJP did not instigate or use any UG organisations to coerce electors and so he can do nothing in this regard, he said.
Regarding the party's manifesto, Biren said that it was prepared after collecting extensive suggestions and opinions from different sections of the public and it includes a roadmap for development and welfare of the people in the state for the next five years.
The support and love that the party is getting from the public is due to the good performance of the government in the last five years.
Public support is important in bringing peace and development and the government can do nothing without their support.
His government was able to face the Covid-19 pandemic with support from PM Modi, CSOs and people from different sections of the society, and the party is grateful for the support.
In the last five years, BJP has not only expedited development but also let the people to live with dignity.
Various assistance have been provided to poor families and women, at least to some extent, he said.
The CM further said that his government experienced a bandh and blockade free term due to the sincerity and commitment in bringing equitable development in both hills and vally while at the same time bringing closer the ties among different communities.
The sincere efforts of his government resulted in support from hill leaders, CSOs and churches to BJP, he said and recalled how hill people helped the valley people with vegetables and fruits during the pandemic.
BJP national spokesperson and Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra said that BJP is fighting the election against Congress party based on four agendas - A, B, C andD.
A is for apathy of Congress and affection of BJP for the public.
The party is fighting the election on development agenda.
Before 2017, the state witnessed 1570 fake encounter cases.
There was hill-valley divide as Congress believes in divide and rule policy On the other hand, BJP wants to work with the people which is why chief minister N Biren had special programmes to meet the public.
B is for bandh and blockade during Congress rule.
The state witnessed frequent and long-term bandh and blockade before 2017 and it affected the lives of the public severely.
C is for corruption in Congress and competence in BJP.
Before 2017, there was a corrupt government of Congress but after 2017, the state is seeing good governance.
At the Centre too, Congress is known for scams and BJP for schemes.
And lastly, D is for dynasty in Congress and development in BJP.
The two main agenda of Manipur election is development and peace.
As mentioned by the Prime Minister, the ensuing election will decide the fate of the state for the next 25 years, he maintained and said BJP will win 30 seats out of the 38 contituencies, which are going to the polls in the first phase.
BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, works minister Th Biswajit, speaker Y Khemchand and former Rajya Sabha MP Ksh Bhabananda also attended the press meet.
