Breastfeeding awareness programme held

Breastfeeding Promotion Alliance of Manipur (BPAM) in association with Ching-Tam Workers' Union, VLF and Asha workers of Bamon Kampu organised a one day 'Breastfeeding Awareness Programme' today.
The programme which was held at Bamon Kampu Community Hall was attended by BPAM president Dr A Ibotombi and SDO Porompat, Pooja Elangbam as presidium members among others.
While Paediatrician, JNIMS, Dr L Radhapiyari and Manipur Nursing Council Registrar Thoudam Nandarani spoke as the resource persons.
Speaking at the occasion, BPAM Secretary, Dr James Elangbam highlighted the importance of breastfeeding in order to keep a child healthy.
He also stressed on the need of raising awareness regarding the numerous benefits of breastfeeding to the child as well as the mother.
Stating that Breastfeeding Promotion Alliance of Manipur has been organising awareness programmes to sensitize the masses on the importance of breastfeeding across the State, he informed that one can contact BPAM to organise such programmes.
