Call for peaceful coexistence raised

A joint meeting of clubs, associations, civil society organisations (CSOs) and representatives of the local bodies of Kaching district was held today.
The joint meeting was held at Kakching Higher Secondary School under the initiative of the Committee for Peace and Social Harmony (CPSH), Head Office Kakching, said a statement by the committee.
Yengkhom Bhei gyachandra Singh, Chairman CPSH Kakching; Naorem Sanjitkumar, former Chairperson Kakching Municipal Council and Moirangthem Sarat Singh, former Chairperson of Sugnu Municipal Council graced the meeting as the presidium members.
One minute silence was observed by the attendees in the honour of the innocent lives lost during the recent communal clash in the State.
The meeting unanimously resolved that the District Level Peace Committee be christened as 'District Level Committee for Rejuvenating Co Existence Kakching' .
Further it was resolved that the Committee will initiate and find out all possible measures so as to bring peaceful coexistence among the different communities of Kakching district in particular and the State in general.
A Steering Committee of 15 members was also formed.
Y Bheigyachandra Singh has been appointed as the president; N Sanjitkumar Singh and M Sarat Singh as working president; Mohonjao Kom Mantak and S Borchandra Singh as vice-presidents; Ksh Chhatradhari Singh and M Premjit Singh as secretary and N Rameshwar Singh as treasurer among others.
