Committee for Rejuvenating Co-existence formed

A joint meeting of clubs, associations, CSOs and representatives of local bodies of Kakching district was held on Thursday at Ka-kching Higher Secondary School under the initiative of Committee for Peace and Social Harmony (CPSH), Kakching which unanimous-ly resolved to form District Level Committee for Re-juvenating Co-Existence, Kakching.
The meeting was attended by CPSH chairman Yengk-horn Bheigyachandra Singh, Kakching Municipal Coun-cil caretaker chairperson Naorem Sanjtkumar and Sugnu Municipal Council caretaker chairperson Moi-rangthem Sharat Singh as presidium members.
A one-minute silence was observed before the meeting to condole the deaths due to the communal violence.
The meeting further re-solved that the Commit-tee will explore all possible means to promote peaceful co-existence among the dif-ferent communities settling in the Kakching district in particular and the state in general.
It was also resolved that all the members present will be general members of the Committee.
A 15-member Steering Committee was also appointed including Y Bhai-gyachandra Singh as presi-dent, N Sanjitkumar Singh & M Sharat Singh as working presidents, Mohonjao Kom as vice president (Mantak) & S Borchandra Singh as vice president (Wangoo), Ksh Chhatradhari Singh as secretary (Kakching) & M Premjit Singh as secretary (Sugnu), N Rameshwar Singh as treasurer, etc.
