Absence of DDO hits hard teachers, staff

Imphal, May 18 2023:
Highlighting that teachers and non-teach-ing staff members of Johnstone Higher Sec-ondary School are facing serious inconveniences due absence of a Draw-ing & Disbursing Officer (DDO), the school has urged authority con-cerned to appoint a DDO in-charge at the earliest.
Addressing media per-sons regard at the school, senior lecturer of John-stone Higher Secondary School Moirangthem Takheljao informed that the government was al-ready apprised to look into the matter and do the needful.
However, there has been no pos-itive response till date.
He further informed that due to non-appoint-ment of principal for the school, there is no quali-fied staff to hand over the power of DDO.
As such the staff and teachers of the school have not re-ceived their salaries since March 2023.Therefore, considering the hard-ships faced by the staff and teachers, authority concerned should to the needful to appoint a DDO in-charge at the earliest, he stressed.
