Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Thamkishore said that judicious use of oil and gas should be encouraged in order to preserve the fossil fuels for future usage.
The public must be given awareness on conservation and proper usage of fossil fuels.
Moreover, the people should be encouraged to use the public transport system instead of their own private vehicles to reduce consumption of fuels and pollution levels, he noted.
Deputy Commissioner Radhakumar maintained that India needs to import huge quantity of petroleum products from other countries for its domestic consumption.
So, it is very essential on the part of Government agencies and NGOs to impart mass awareness on oil and gas conservation to the public.
