"Sultana was a physically disabled person"

Sultana Begum (27) who was found murdered atop a hill near Wangtha Lambi under Kumbi police station was a physically disabled person, according to her elder sister Thoibi.
Speaking to media persons at the victim's home at Hatta Golapati today, Thoibi said that Sultana became physically very weak following a road accident on September 14, 2012 and both her hands could not move like a normal person.
She could not carry even a bucket of water.
Thoibi asked why such a helpless person was murdered in the most brutal manner.
She also urged authority concerned to book the culprits.
Sultana went out at around 9-10 am of January 7 to send money to their younger brother who is a studying theology in Gujarat.
She had Rs 4000/5000 with her when she went out.
Her mobile phone was found in switch off mode since around 2.15 pm of the same day.
After a missing report was filed at Porompat police station on January 10, the same report was published in the Sangai Express and Poknapham dailies.
One Laishram Rajen rang up the family of Sultana from a mobile phone (9862753436) on the same day and said that Sultana was with another man at Jiribam.
In the next moment, the phone was switched off.
When the same number was dialled this morning, the recipient said that his place is Kwakta.
But on enquiring his name, the man switched off the phone.
Sultana and her husband divorced three years back.
They have a 10 year old daughter and an eight year old boy.
Meanwhile, the All Manipur Muslim Women Development Organisation, United Manipur Muslim Women Development Organisation and the Women Action for Development have condemned the murder of Sultana in the strongest term.
They have also urged authority concerned to book and punish the culprits at the earliest.
Even though Sultana had mobile phone, cash and gold finger ring, all these objects were missing when she was found dead, Thoibi said.
