Imphal, October 03 2022:
The Cultural Workers and Activists Forum (CWAF) would be holding the 2nd CWAF Festival on the theme 'Re-construction of Cultural Memory' for four days starting from October 6 .
Speaking to media persons about the festival at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, CWAF president Budha Chingtham said that the CWAF has been holding a cultural festival since its establishment where different cultural forms and myriad disciplines of art are brought together.
These festivals provide a platform for exponents of different cultural and art forms to interact with each other, he said.
The basic underlying idea of the festival is exploring a common strategy on how to tackle and overcome external influences to the State's cultural forms and disciplines of art, Budha said.
It is essential to organise such cultural festivals on a regular basis and re-construct the fading/vanishing cultural memories in order to preserve and promote the State's original artistic integrity, he said.
He informed that the four-day festival would be opened on October 6 in the auditorium of Kanglei Mime Theatre Repertory, Langthabal Kunja.
The festival would go to Kakching on the second day and Ukhrul on the third day before it culminates at Tamenglong on the fourth day, he added.
