MLA Arunkumar pitches for entrepreneurship

Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar has called upon the youth of the state to develop entrepreneurial outlook in order to improve the socio-economic condition of the state and its people.
Attending as chief guest of the 55th foundation day celebration of WAL United Youth's Club held at its Wangkhei Angom Leikai premises, here, on Monday, the MLA said that education is to develop better understanding of good and evil apart from its main goal of getting the right knowledge.
Studying just for getting certificates and government jobs is a wrong notion and it needs to be changed since it is impossible for the government to provide jobs to everybody.
The youth need to develop entrepreneurial outlook to become job creators instead of job seekers, which will help in providing jobs and improving socio-economic condition of the state and its people, he said.
Assuring that he will take up initiatives to develop skills of youth of the constituency, Arunkumar sought support from the local clubs, Meira Paibi organisations and the general public in this regard.
He also said that he is open to suggestion from the public for bringing positive changes in the society.
Club president RK Gokulchandra presided over the function which was also attended by retired IPS N Bijoy, DC Imphal West Th Kirankumar, additional SP (LO) Bishnupur Satyam Takhellambam, 32nd battalion CRPF CO Hidam Ranjit, laparoscopic surgeon Dr Chandragupta Chongtham and BJYM Manipur president Manoharmayum Barish Sharma as guests of honour.
Earlier, floral tributes were offered at the memorial stone erected in honour of deceased members of the club.
Equipment for an open gym were also installed under the CRPF's civic action programme at the club premises.
