Imphal, October 03 2022:
Naga Women s Union (NWU) has vehemently condemned the bomb attack at the office of chief medical officer (CMO), Senapati which is located at the heart of the borough (Old District Hospital) on September 30 evening.
In a release, NWU president Asha Wungnam and general secretary Changwiliu Newmai stated that the Union decries such unprincipled and amoral act of scaredy-cat, as any right-thinking person would have the sense of belongingness and shouldering responsibilities.
The incident has jeopardised the peaceful environment of the town; a situation like this never pays off any humanistic goals other than bringing terror to citizens and chaos to public which is the only intent of terrorism, it noted.
"Using of bombs and other explosive devices has never been in our culture since time immemorial, we urge not to pursue foreign tradition in our land.
We are threatened by the realisation that our land is not safe anymore if the only home of the sick and needy person is being attacked," it said.
The Union further appealed to the authority concerned to conduct serious probe and book the offender/culprit(s) involved in the attack.
