Imphal, December 22 2022:

The minister was speak ing as chief guest of the annual project meeting on COVID-19 Vaccination - Momentum Routine Immunisation Transformation and Equity', jointly organised by Church's Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA), USAID, Momentum and NHM, Manipur at the Imperial Hall of Classic Grande, here, on Thursday.
Minister Ranjan maintained that the situation of the pandemic still remains alarming in some countries according to the recent reports.
It is fortunate that Manipur, as per the report of the health department released on December 21, has no COVID active case.
However, we should not be complacent with the report, he cautioned, adding that we should work on preventive measures.
Dr Ranjan then informed that the percentage of COVID vaccination is below average in most of the hill districts, especially in remote areas when compared to the valley.
This need to be reviewed since vaccination is the only way to stay safe from the viral contagion.
The role played by the NGOs in the state, particularly those working in the hill districts on COVID vaccination and awareness is really commendable.
Without their effort and cooperation, the rate of vaccination could be much more less, he asserted.

It is a far-vision action of the Prime Minister that the nation is still taking precautionary measures against COVID.
The state, under the capable leadership of the Chief Minister has also introduced many health schemes for the public.
People need to cooperate with the government, he stated.
