Workshop concludes

A team comprised of representatives of AMASI, recently visited Mandalay and successfully performed an advanced laparoscope live operating workshop in the region.
Speaking to media persons at Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) office at IMA Lamphelpat today, AMASI president elect Dr Jugindro Sorokhaibam said that a team of AMASI successfully performed an a live operating workshop on advanced laparoscopic surgery at Mandalay, Myanmar from March 8 to 10 .
The AMASI team comprised of 11 members, was flagged of by Governor Dr Najma Heptulla on March 6 and the team reached Mandalay in the morning of March 7 .
The AMASI team performed live laparoscopic surgery in front of the Mandalay surgeons from March 8 to 10, he said adding that around 40 doctors from the region (Mandalay) participated in the workshop.
A total of 10 free operations were performed during the workshop and during the workshop, tools from Striker Company were used, he added.
He explained that the AMASI team comprised of doctors from Nagpur, Bhubaneshwar and Vadodara and added that they have all returned to their native place yesterday.
Jugindro continued that he and Dr Khwairakpam Devendra represented Manipur in the team which was had many staff to assist the surgeons.
Pointing out that the main aim behind the workshop was to develop international relationship, Jugindro said that more such ventures will be planned in the future.
