Drug de-addiction drive conducted

Imphal, March 12 2019:
In continuation of the de-addiction drive undertaken by Moreh Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), the medical officer of Moreh Battalion along with his medical team carried out through medical check up and provided medicine to the patients at Rehab Hope Centre, Moriah Lhangtheng, Ward No 2, Moreh, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South) .
A total of 43 patients were treated at the medical camp during which they were also educated on the benefits of drug free life and critical withdrawal symptoms associated with drug addiction with the help of videos.
Inmates were provided counselling and provided free medicines, said the statement.
The platform was also utilised to discuss and plan the awareness campaign for National Skill Development Council (NSDC) .
Nine leaders of CSOs from Moreh also attended the event.
The Assam Rifles Battalion at Moreh has liaised with NSDC to engage Moreh youths in skill development activities, added the statement.
