Kakching FC reach Heirok Cup semis after 4-3 thriller

Imphal, March 12 2019: Kakching FC saw off Thoiba FC by 4-3 goals in an intense quarter final clash of the 5th Heirok Cup, State Level U-14 Soccer Tournament being organised by Chingdompok Ideal Top Youth Club, Heirok at its ground.

Both Kakching FC and Thoiba FC shared almost equal possession and attempts but the former team emerged out to be a luckier side as they sealed the game 4-3 .

Ritesh of Kakching FC drew first blood early in the 6th minute and the team remained a dominant force for a major portion of the half.

Nitish then put Kakching ahead with a 2-0 lead as he struck a beautiful goal in the 19th minute before Nongsaba of Thoiba FC pulled back a goal in the 30th minute and made it 2-1 at the half time.

After the break, Raju extended Kakching FC's lead with his shot in the 41st minute while Ritesh found his second goal ten minutes latter and made it 4-1 clear past Thoiba FC .

Thoiba FC however rallied back with more purpose showing better understanding among the players in the latter part of the game and pulled back two goals back to back in the 57th and the 60th minute respectively through Bikramjit and Rohit Kumar.

The team however fell short to draw level by one goal as time ticked away to favour the Kakching side.
