Thoubal Dist One Day Cricket : WYC romp to 6 wicket win against LCIC

Imphal, March 12 2019: WYC, Wangkhem outplayed LCIC, Mairenkhul by 6 wickets in today's first match of the Thoubal District One Day League Cum Knock-Out Cricket Tournament-2019 being organised by Thoubal District Cricket Association at Thoubal, Moijing Playground.

LCIC which won the toss and opted to bat first and a disastrous innings as they were bowled out for a cheap 121 runs in 29.4 overs as Bashanta of WYC wreaked havoc taking 6 wickets alone.

WYC, Wangkhem took only 20.1 overs and lost 4 wickets on their way to gather 125 runs for a huge win.

Rafik of LCIC made the highest score with 54 runs off 80 balls while Mishra also found his name on the scoresheet for his 22 runs contribution.

Lakshman of WYC also managed 2 wickets in his spell of 6 overs.

In reply, Biteshwor set up the page for WYC making 31 runs off 34 balls while Sarju and Lakhsman gathered 21 and 20 runs each in same 22 balls to ensure a smooth victory.

Abbash of LCIC was able to scalped 2 wickets in this innings.

Basanta of WYC was named man of the match.

CAL, Masjid Road also opened up the winning account in the tournament beating HCC, Moijing by 31 runs.

Md Rajak gave a fine show in this game scoring 72 off 55 balls and latter walk away as man of the match while Rafik and Boicha added 26 and 19 runs respective to make it 223 for 10 in 29.4 overs.

Amujao and Bicky of HCC enjoyed 3 wicket hauls in this innings while Maru claimed the other two wickets.

In reply, Tomba gave HCC a flying start hitting 59 runs off 86 runs but his team were held at 192 for 5 in their quota of 30 overs.

Rajaque also added a significant 39 runs off 46 balls and Abisaf contributed 27 runs in 22 balls.

Aziz of CAL fetched three wickets in this innings.

Al Ameen will take on HCC in the next match tomorrow in the morning while WYC will face TQC in the evening session.
