Yairipok Rape Case :: JAC one step ahead of clueless cops

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed in connection with the rape case of a girl student of Yairipok Changamdabi has claimed to have identified the rapists even if the police are unable to arrest the culprits more than one month after the incident.
Meanwhile, a person reportedly involved in the incident was brought before media persons during a press meet held at the residence of Pradhan of Changamdabi Gram Panchayat Md Imran Khan today.
The person has been identified as Mamsamayum Itocha (28), s/o Sara Ahmed.
He disclosed that at around midnight of that fateful day, his brother-in-law Md Sahid Khan, s/o Ato Rahman, VDF Md Taj Khan, s/o Jahiruddin and another unknown person came to his home and asked him to drop the victim girl at her home.

They said that Taj Khan had eloped with the girl but they were having some quarrel.
He refused to follow their instruction, but the unknown persons pulled out a pistol and threatened him to kill if he did not drop the girl at her residence or disclosed about the incident to others.
Itocha further said that they contacted another lady Ibemcha, w/o Nahatomba with whom he dropped the girl near the gate of her residence.
He did not disclose about the incident to others fearing death threat from the unknown person.
Pradhan Imran Khan told media persons that the police have remained inactive in the investigation of the case.
The JAC along with other social organizations have investigated the case and brought out the real culprits through the words of Itocha.
The JAC further demanded the authorities concerned to transfer the inactive police officers of Yairipok Police Station and urged the State Government to apprehend the culprits as soon as possible.
