Fish farmers' training

Imphal, July 15 2013:
A five-day fish farmers' training programme was kick-started today at SIRD Hall, Imphal East DC Office Complex organised by District Fishery Office, Imphal East under its RKVY scheme.
The inaugural programme of the training programme was attended by Fisheries Director, K Sarat Kumar Singh; Additional Director of Fisheries, Kh Memcha Devi and Joint Director, David K Shimray as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Around 45 fish farmers of Imphal East have registered participation in the training programme.
Fish farmers would be enlightened on transfer of modern technique fish culture to farmers, site selection, construction of fish farm, carp seed raising technology, pond management techniques for maximum survival of spawn, hatchery management, integrated fish farming, fish parasites and their preventive measures, prospects of air breathing fish culture during the five-day training programme.
