ATDSUM to launch agitations

Demanding to take immediate action against the police personnel who had allegedly beaten up its President and his driver, All Tribal Disabled Students' Union Manipur has warned to launch various agitations if the demand is not fulfilled.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club today, General Secretary of the Union, Letminthang Haokip warned the Government to respond to the demand by July 20 otherwise intense agitations will be launched from the following day.
The President and his driver were beaten up by police at Kanglatombi during intense agitations clamped by ATSUM from June 3 last when they went to visit ATDSUM's representatives arrested by police, Haokip recalled and added that the Deputy Chief Minister who also holds the portfolio of Home Minister was appealed on June 5 last to take action against the involved police personnel.
Haokip continued that, however, as the appeal was not heard seriously, the Union is ready to launch the agitation.
