Shoot out at Wangli

Imphal, July 15 2013:
There was a shootout between suspected NSCN-IM cadres and suspected UNLF cadres in Manipur's Ukhrul district early today.
However, the report of the shootout could not be confirmed officially.
According to reports received, suspected cadres of UNLF were resting at the community hall of Wangli village under Kasom Khullen sub-division in Ukhrul district when militants believed to be from NSCN-IM surrounded the community hall and opened fire.
The other group also retaliated.
In the process, one militant was said to have been killed but it is yet to be ascertained as to which group the deceased belonged.
Unconfirmed reports said two injured suspected UNLF cadres have been taken away by the other rival outfit.
Wangli is a Tangkhul village located 60 km from Kasom Khullen subdivision headquarters bordering Myanmar.
Meanwhile, due to certain problem, the police of Kasom Khullen subdivision are yet to reach the place.
They are likely to go to Wangli village in the morning tomorrow.
