Imphal, July 15 2013:
The All Manipur Student Guardians Organisation has appealed to the authorities concerned to allow all the candidates who have submitted their application forms to the Manipur Public Service Commission for the combined competitive examination to sit at the same examination.
Speaking to media persons at their Palace Compound office today, secretary of the organisation S Sumati contended that it was illogical for MPSC not to issue admit cards to 181 candidates on the ground that their qualifying certificates were not attached at the time of form submission.
Notification for the combined competitive exam was issued on May 7 this year and the last date of form submission was fixed on June 15 .
As results of the final semester of four year engineering degree course were not declared before June 15, 181 candidates could not submit their qualifying certificates.
Results of the final semester exam have now been declared and the 181 candidates can now submit their qualifying certificates.
According to the MPSC notification, 84 Assistant Engineers would be appointed including 25 civil and mechanical posts in PHED, 24 civil posts in IFCD, seven civil posts on PWD and 23 posts in Power Department.
For this direct recruitment, candidates in the age group of 21 to 35 can appear in the combined competitive examination.
The age bar is relaxable by five years for ST/SC candidates and 10 years for disabled candidates, according to the MPSC notification.
Those who could not submit their qualifying certificates at the time of form submission should be allowed to submit the necessary certificates now so that they can sit the exam, Sumati asserted.
