Imphal, November 24 2013:
To exert pressure on the Centre for resolving the Indo-Myanmar border dispute that has reportedly led to loss of a large chunk of Manipur's land on account of the border fencing work along the yet to be demarcated border areas, a delegation of representatives of all political parties based in the State would meet the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister in New Delhi on December 1 next.
As per the resolution of a meeting of all political parties convened at the Chief Minister's Secretariat at 3 pm here today, a delegation of political parties led by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam would meet the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister and urge the national leaders to settle the Indo-Myanmar boundary issues as soon as possible without affecting the State's territory.
Members of the Drafting Committee would also be a part of the delegation to New Delhi.
However, the representatives of MPP and BJP stayed away from the meeting today.
It is not clear whether they would join the delegation or not, a reliable source said.
