NIT from Parbung to Agra-Jaipur flagged off

Imphal, November 24 2013:
Maj Gen P M Bali, VSM, GOC Red Shield Division flagged off a National Integration Tour (NIT) from Leimakhong to Agra and Jaipur in a grand ceremony held on 23 November 13 at Red Shield Division.
The tour organized by 27 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division comprised 26 school children, including seven girls and three teachers hailing from different parts of Churachandpur district.
The aim of the tour is to expose the children belonging to the far flung and remote villages of Churachandpur to the national mainstream.
This is a unique opportunity for these children to witness the development taking place in various parts of the country and to explore the diverse cultural heritage of India.
The tour will provide an opportunity for the students to visit cultural landmarks like Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur Fort and 'Taj Mahal' .
This endeavour of the Red Shield Division to develop a bond of national integrity and expose the students to the rich diversity and history of India, will go a long way in nation building, according to a statement issued by PRO Defence Wing.
