Chandel ADC Chairman wants smooth functioning of council

Kakching, September 11 2015 : After assuming office as chairman of the ADC Chandel, KSM Matthew Maring has called upon the State Government to afford all infrastructure and requirements necessary to help ADC function smoothly in the district.

Addressing newspersons at his office in Monsang Pantha, the new chairman KSM Matthew Maring expressed strong concern over the lack of basic infrastructure and office materials, security arrangement and vehicles in the ADC complex.

He urged the State Government to afford them in the earliest and help the ADC to function effectively.

Mathew alleged the State Government of delaying the process of ADC formation saying that the election of chairman only came into effect four months after the results of the June 1 ADC election were declared on June 10 .

He said that the ADC began to function from the next day of Chairman Election even though the ADC has been crippled by a number of problems including incompletion of quarters for members, chairman and vice-chairman.

Dwelling on the vacant posts of post of vice-chairman and executive members, the chairman informed that the same will be done as soon as possible.

He further appealed to the elected ADC members and staff to attend the office on September 14 for its effective functioning.

Meanwhile, Committee on Formation of ADC Chandel has welcomed the election of ADC Chairman held in the district headquarters on September 9 saying it is a step to pave way for ADC to function soon.

It demanded the Government to immediately devolve power and function to the new chairman and to respect and honour the proceeding and conduct of the same.

The committee warned of a series of agitations if the Government fails to let ADC function from the present head office located at Monsang Pantha village.

Any move of the Government to shift sitting of the ADC members outside the district headquarters will be strictly dealt and the Government should be held responsible for any untoward incident, the committee warned.
