Imphal, May 05 2017:
The All Manipur Petroleum Dealer Association has demanded the CAF & PD Director to clarify regarding his media statement before Monday.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club Today, the association's secretary and proprietor of Tiddim Service Station, Rajeshwor said that the association welcomes the inspection conducted by the CAF&PD Director and his team but wished the Director to follow the guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Petroleum during the inspection.
Condemning the manner of the inspection carried out at the two oil pumps at Uripok, he urged the Director to conduct the inspection only after having proper knowledge of the guidelines for inspection of petroleum products and not to make any baseless allegations before the news media without proper confirmation adding that it would tamish the image and reputation of the people operating the oil pumps.
A member of the association, L Manoranjan said that although the challan for procuring fuel from Malom Oil Depot was issued at around 5.30 pm of May 3, the clearance to transport the same came very late, at around 10.30 pm, and the fuel had to be transported early the next day at around 7.30 am.
Manoranjan claimed that the inspection team led by the CAF&PD Director arrived and inspected the oil pump during the oil refilling process while the distributors were busy signing the challans for the drivers and made the distorted statement to the news media and demanded the Director to clarify regarding his statement at the earliest.
