2 killed in battle of the turf at Kangpokpi, Saitu ACs

Kangpokpi, May 05 2017:
Amidst numerous highway crimes in the newly created Kangpokpi district, three persons allegedly from different militant outfits were abducted last night from Khoken village in New Keithelmanbi area under Gamnom Sapormeina PS in Saitu Sub Division, Kangpokpi district.
Among the three abducted persons two were found shot dead near Boljang village early this morning in the same area while another one was in the
custody of the abductors who later claimed to be from the Kuki National Front, a SoO signatory under the umbrella of UPF.
Police recovered the dead bodies and deposited the same at RIMS morgue for post mortem.
The deceased have been identified as Satkholhun Hao-kip (35), s/o Letkholal Haokip of N Songpijang village andNgamlet Haokip (41), s/o Janglam Haokip of Thingbongjang village, Kangpokpi District while the other abductee is identified as Jangkholunj Haokip from Khoken village.
It has been established that the duo went for fishing in Khoken area and stayed at the house of Jangkholun who were abducted at around 2.30 am by Special Task Force (STF) of Kuki National Front while the two lifeless bodies of Satlhun and Ngamlet were found in the morning.
Jangkholun is still in the custody of KNF.
The two deceased persons are reported to be active cadres of the proscribed People's Revolutionary Army (PRA) work-ing in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant while Jangkholun is the PRO of Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), a SoO signatory under-the umbrella of KNO.
Meanwhile, claiming hand in the abduction and killing of Satlhun and Ngamlet, the Kuki National Front clarified that Satlhun and Ngamlet were given capital punishment owing to their intimidating activities in the operational area of KNF and their policy to sabotage the prevailing peaceful environment in the area.
The press communique signed by LH Stephen, Information, and Publicity secretary, KNF stated that the duo had harassed former cadres of KNF in New Keithelmanbi areas on many occasions but "we excused them on every occasion anticipating their rectification" .
However, when two PRA cadres surrendered to KNF recently it came to learn that the duo had evil strategies in Saitu sub division in order to harm and damage the peaceful envi ronment and more importantly their policy of launching life attempts on various leaders of KNF, it claimed.
It continued that since then the outfit has been observing their movements closely and the Special Task Force (STF) of KNF eliminated them this morning owing to their evil strategies in "our operational area and the deadly plan to attack KNF leaders." It also clarified that the elimination of Satlhun and Ngamlet is not against any organization but to safeguard the peaceful coexistence of all communities while cautioning any individual or organizations having such strategies and plan to interrupt the peaceful environment in operational area of KNF to immediately abort such policies.
The KNF also stated that while the UPF and KNO are haying a tripartite talk with the Governments so as to solve the vexed political issues of the Kukis, organization sponsoring such non-SoO groups like PRA only to disturb the environment and peaceful dialogue process should refrain from such activities and warned all cadres of PRA in Saitu area to surrender before the outfit on or before May 17 .
Till the time of filing this report Jangkholun is yet to be released by the abductors.
