Jiribam wards sealed to curb virus

Imphal, June 03 2021:
Subsequent to detection of many Covid-19 positive cases during random testing conducted in the last few days, the Jiribam district magistrate has imposed restriction under Section 144 of CrPC in certain areas of the district.
An order issued by Jiribam DM W Malemngamba Chenglei said that the restriction under Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed in Jiribam Municipal Council ward number 4, 5, 6 and 7 and Kadamtala and movement of any persons outside their respective residences in the areas with effect from 7pm of June 3 till 6am of June 9 has been prohibited.
However, personnel directly related with essential services including pharmacy, clinic, hospital, power supply, PHED, Municipal offices engaged in cleaning, fire services and medical oxygen manufacturing plants and agencies of the government involved in enforcement of law and order will be exempted from the restriction, it added.
Till date, there are 86 Covid cases in Jiribam, out of which 38 patients are in Covid Care Centre and the remaining 48 under home isolation.
