Imphal, June 03 2021:
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of district police Kangpokpi on Wednesday arrested three prime accused in the murder case of Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) chief Jaggin Baite and his bodyguard Lamginlen Hangshing on April 29 night from Lilen-B Village, Peren district Nagaland.
According to police, the Special Investigation Team comprising of Thangkho Chon Haokip Additional SP Law and Order and T Kipgen OC Saikul Police Station under the Supervision of PG Singsit SP Kangpokpi arrested the three prima accused namely Satmingthang Hangshing (34) s/o (L) Lalpao Hangshing of Lhungtin village; Lamginlal @ Lalcha Chongloi (38) s/o Lunsat Chingloi of Lhungtin village and Lunginhao @ Robert Hangshing (33) s/o Jiten of Phaikon village with the help of 36 Assam Rifles.
The arrested persons were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Kangpokpi virtually, today.
The Court remanded them to 10 days police custody for further investigation.
Among the three, Lunginhao @ Robert Hangshing is said to be a cadre of KRA.
It may be mentioned here that some unidentified persons shot the army chief of KRA and his bodyguard dead at Lhungtin village Saikul on April 29 last.
