Mass Covid testing conducted in various places

In view of the rising COVID-19 positive cases in the State and as directed by the State Government, the District Administration Chandel had also started a mass testing drive for COVID-19 as a part of the precautionary measures in the district.
Today, the District Health Department and District COVID- 19 Task force under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar, conducted a mass testing for COVID-19 at Japhou Bazaar area.
Riverlane and Hnaringkhu area.
Out of total 220 persons tested for COVID-19, 20 people were found positive of which 9 were male and 11 were female.
It has been informed that as a part of the mass testing drive, mass testing would also be conducted at Western valley and Chakpikarong Bazaar area on June 4 & 5 respectively.
The Cluster Level Joint Task force committees, leaders of CSOs, student organisations and village heads also played a vital role in successfully organising the mass testing drive.
Similarly, medical teams under the supervision of District Administration Tengnoupal and Tengnoupal District police conducted mass Covid testing for vegetable vendors, shopkeepers and hotel staff in the Moreh Keithel area today.
The team also conducted random Covid testing for people violating COVID-19 SOPs and loitering in public places.
Out of total 267 persons tested for COVID-19, 5 persons were found positive.
The mass testing was participated by Tengnoupal District SP, Th Vikramjit; SDO Moreh, I Dinesh Kumar; ASP(Ops), M Amit; ASP(LO), Sangboi Gangte; OC CDO, Robindro and OC, Dilip Kumar.
A mass COVID-19 test was also organised under the supervision of Wabagai AC MLA Mohamad Fajur Rahim at Maibam Konjil.
Speaking on the occasion, Fajur Rahim stated that in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 infection in Maibam village, the mass Covid testing was organised in association with the local club of Maibam village and Maibam Covid Prevention Task Force.
He further appealed to the public to follow all the SOPs mandated by the Government and assist in the fight against the pandemic.
Likewise, a combined team of CHC Moirang, Moirang Police Station, SDO Moirang and Moirang AC COVID-19 Awareness cum Enforcement Committee jointly conducted a random Covid testing for curfew violators at Loktak Modern Fish Market in Moirang Patlou Leikai.
A total of 50 persons including 49 male and 1 male was tested.
Moirang AC MLA P Sharatchandra Singh also personally visited the site and inspected the random Covid testing.
