IRCS Imphal organises blood donation camp

As part of taking up a series of initiatives by Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) in connection with the commemoration of 100 years of its establishment in India, a blood donation camp was organised by IRCS Manipur State branch in association with JNIMS Blood Bank and Transfusion unit at Thangal Bazar today.
The camp was held from 10 in the morning till 1.30 pm.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the camp, IRCS Manipur State branch secretary RK Nimai said that IRCS, to observe its 100th foundation day in the country, have been organising various activities like youth camp, medical camp.
IRCS Manipur unit organised today's camp as part of the celebration, he added.
Saying that there is a constant need of blood in Manipur and in India, RK Nimai said that safe blood can save the lives of others who are in need.
He continued that there is no harm in donate blood twice a year and even improves the condition of health.
Nimai appealed to all healthy people, from the age of 18 to 60 years, to donate blood every after six months and be a part of the community which saves lives.
