Advocacy / training programme held in Moreh

Moreh, February 20 2020:
Divisional Forest Officer, Tengnoupal Forest Division today organised a district level advocacy cum training programme on Van Dhan Vikas Kendra at Tengnoupal District Headquarters.
Tengnoupal DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar; Deputy Conservator of Forest, Tengnoupal Forest Division, Leishangthem Jeeceelee and Tengnoupal Village chief, John Thangkholen Mate graced the function as presidium members.
On the occasion, Leishangthem Jeeceelee spoke about the needs to conserve forest to prevent global warming and in building sustainable societies.
Jeeceelee also urged the tribal communities to sale minor forest produces (MFPs) by increasing its value to enhance their income generation.
DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar, while appealing all to conserve forest areas, said that we should utilise resources provided by forest wisely.
Felling several trees for poppy cultivation to earn easy money is also not encourageable, the DC added.
Hanjabam Shubhra Devi, proprietor of Meira Foods, also spoke during the programme as resource person.
Later, the dignitaries present distributed cheque and equipment to 45 Self Help Groups.
