MDPF releases manifesto

The Manipur Democratic People's Front (MDPF) today released its election manifesto for the ensuing election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly in its office at Khurai Lairikyengbam Leikai.
President of the party Dr G Tonsana, who released the manifesto, said that the party will be fielding around 30 candidates in the ensuing general election which is to be held on January 28 next year.
Speaking on the occasion Dr, G Tonsana said that MDPF was formed to bring about a visible change in the state which is ruled by political parties or leaders who act at the behest of the Centre only.
Elucidating the stand of the party, he said that MDPF will not form any pre-poll alliance with any party.
Under such arrangement, no party can secure absolute majority and a coalition government would surely emerge, he said, adding that the party will look forward to becoming a part of such a coalition government.
Among others, the MDPF manifesto promised to improve law and order , repeal AFSPA, root out corruption, bring economic development, provide adequate power supply, etc.
